111Things is a DOYJO-owned publishing and local discovery platform. It brings national and local information into a reader experience supported by a custom WordPress newsroom.

The underlying challenge is coordination. Research, source review, editorial rules, location categories, scheduling, and publication all need to connect. Readers also need useful ways to find coverage relevant to a place or topic, rather than having every story compete in a single feed.

Publishers can define how material moves from research through review and release, with visibility into the status of that work. The system provides a place for editorial rules and human judgment within an automated production process.

On the public site, national coverage, local hubs, weather, and discovery tools offer different entry points into the same information environment. As an owned platform, 111Things demonstrates DOYJO’s work on custom publishing systems, integrations, and operational workflows alongside the website visitors see.

Custom tools around the newsroom

111Things has a wider custom plugin set around its publishing system. Local Intelligence Search supports city/state and ZIP-code matching with live location suggestions. Contextual Daily Briefs, tag quicklinks, Local Headlines and page-location helpers connect the publication with a reader’s place and topic.

Heading and archive chatbot integrations supply page context to the existing AI Engine setup. A resumable synchronization tool handles missing and changed knowledge-source content with batch processing and operational controls. Smart Related Control and Dynamic Term Grid provide reusable paths through the publication.

Doyjo SMTP adds email-delivery logs, retries, failover and diagnostics. Other custom integrations prepare fallback images for Jetpack Social, manage search and publisher identity, and handle abusive request patterns. These tools support the newsroom’s operation without replacing the third-party services they extend.
